Everything is easy, but it can get more efficient.
I would like to be able to edit in sandbox without opening the editor, scrolling all the way to the bottom of my 30 pages, etc.
I sync between collections a lot. I would assume many users will do the same.
Can you add a “open sandbox” button in the live database, at the very least.
Hi Anthony -
I would like to understand your need better.
A word about sandbox and live databases first (forgive me if you already know that, others may not).
we have created this model so that the user can:
- play with data,
- change schema,
- check how pages render with different data,
- write code against the collection,
- etc.
all inside the editor in a protected environment, with zero risk of messing up the already published site.
this protected environment is called the “sandbox”.
so the whole point of the sandbox is to act as a protected area while editing/developing your site in the wix editor.
now back to my question:
given the explanation I gave, I would like to better understand the scenario in which you need access to your sandbox when working with live data.
Thanks!
I use the sandbox as a way to do just that - protect data.
If you delete something in live by mistake, there is no “undo” option, and that get’s risky.
So I use the sandbox and “overwrite the sandbox from live” to ensure that I at least have an immediate backup of information that can be removed easily with a simple backspace.
