Hi
So far we’re designing websites with the Editor for our clients. To be safe we’re always putting content inside the vertical lines. We had some cases in the past where our customers complained that some content wasn’t visible on their tablet or so - that was when we did design also outside of the vertical lines. Customer’s feedback in such a case was embarrasing! We’re designing webpages in the year 2023 and still have to search for excuses why the whole content’s not visible on any resolution!
My questions:
-
How do you guys handle this with the Editor - do you use the whole space or keep your content between the vertical lines? Yes I know there are some responsive ways like using stripes and so on. But WIX telling that we should keep important content between the vertical lines doesn’t give us a good feeling and we’re always limited to use the limited space to be 100% sure that the page we’re designing is responsive. And yes I know there’s a feature request for this.

Thinking about Editor X: what’s the deal here → can you just simply drag and drop elements on the whole space and it’ll scale the elements automatically for every resolution, meaning fully responsive or do you still have to manually check and correct for different resolutions?
After all, it would be very easy for us designers and also for the image of WIX if we could simply use the whole design space without having to tell customers outdated reasons why we can’t. Honest opinion: WIX would do better to ensure basic technical features like fully responsiveness rather than promote catchy funky glittery design elements that disappoint the user when… …exactly not visible on all devices. Also telling us to simply use the Editor X is also disappointing. Why? We have a lot of price sensitive customers and charging double the amount yearly just for fully responsiveness is not working for us (we’re also adding an extra fee to the yearly fee so that makes our service just more expensive).
