Email delay purchasing digital product.??

Hi everyone,

I’m just launching my site and ran a test as a customer purchasing on of our digital assets via a Paypal integration. The UX was pretty good and the money left my “customer” account almost immediately.

However, my personal email address has still not received any order confirmation or a download link for the assets. I wonder if it’s because in Wix Finance the transaction is marked as pending? Obviously my customers won’t wait 2-3 days for email confirmation, so I suppose I need to understand what has happened here. Have I glitched in my setup (I have setup the notifications) or do I need to tick a box somewhere that authorises the digital asset to be delivered before the payment has cleared?

Would really appreciate some advice, I’ve also noticed there are no orders in My Orders in the account I made the test purchase with.

Also, as you are posting this in the Wix Corvid Forum, please state if you have used any code for this or if you have simply made it all up through Wix Editor and the Wix apps.

@givemeawhisky Gos, very sorry to bother you. The Wix support team are really struggling with this, so despite it not being technically a Corvid issue if you (or anyone else) has any ideas I’d much appreciate some help.

To reiterate, the page only sells digital assets (PDFs), when a customer buys one Wix is not sending them an order confirmation email, despite it being set up. It also never sends them the product download. Wix support think (think) that it’s because Wix won’t release the link to the digital asset until the payment has cleared - roughly 3 days. I’m using Paypal. They say there’s no workaround. This seems highly unlikely for such a well made ecommerce platform, that someone e.g. selling music downloads, leaves their customers high and dry for 3 days after purchase.

There simply must be a way to fix this - it’s probably a simple solution but I can’t find anyone who knows the answer…

Does anyone out there have any ideas?

@givemeawhisky I’m having the exact same issue as @nathanjohnfuller . Half of my customers for my client’s site at https://www.eaumelon.com/ebook do not receive the digital download for 4+ hours and, for those 4 full hours, are left concluding they have been ripped off by my client’s website.

The only thing I can think to do is include a line somewhere in the checkout process that says “an email will be sent the instant your payment clears, which may take up to 24 hours. Please email if you do not receive your digital download.” BUT - this looks very unprofessional. There must be a better way?
