Hi Wix team and fellow event hosts,
I run creative retreats and events using Wix, and I’ve come across a pretty frustrating roadblock that I know many others have also mentioned in threads like this one.
Right now, I can’t send essential event update emails (like packing lists, venue changes, what to bring etc.) to my confirmed guests unless they’ve opted in to marketing emails. Even though they’ve booked and paid, Wix blocks any bulk emails unless it’s via the marketing tool – and that tool only works if the guest is subscribed.
This isn’t about sales or promos – it’s basic event communication. These guests are expecting updates and logistics in their inbox, not buried in a website update they have to go searching for.
What would make this easier:
- A way to send transactional (non-marketing) emails to all registered event guests
- OR a dedicated event email feature in the dashboard that bypasses the marketing opt-in rule
- OR the ability to tag guests in a contact group and email that group without restriction
I’m currently having to export the guest list and send emails manually outside of Wix just to keep people informed – which breaks the flow, takes extra time, and honestly, isn’t what I’d expect from a platform that handles bookings.
Would love to hear how others are handling this – and I’d really appreciate it if the Wix product team could consider this as a future feature. It would be a game-changer for event-based businesses.
Thanks!
Sue
