Subject: Feedback: Over‑promotion of Members features may alienate professional users, and why is it so difficult to reject the Member Area?
I would like to share a professional observation regarding the strong promotion of “Members” features within the Wix platform.
Not all websites are community‑based.
Many professional sites — including mine — are intentionally designed without logins, registrations, or membership functionality. For these types of sites, the constant promotion of “Invite Members” can feel intrusive and misaligned with the website’s purpose.
Over‑promoting these features risks pushing away users who value a clean, professional, non‑community‑oriented experience.
“Although promotional notifications can be disabled, the actual Members Area on the website is hidden deeply in the interface and unnecessarily difficult to remove.”
Thank you for considering this feedback.
Hey @D_Vorah_Meijer - thanks for taking the time to share this feedback!
I can definitely see how if a site isn’t planning to use members, these prompts can feel like they’re getting in the way.
To provide some context, we prioritize these features because the Members area acts as a functional backbone for many transactional needs and business growth. For example, in e-commerce, it allows customers to view order history and manage saved addresses in Wix Stores, which is a huge driver for repeat business.
While I know this isn’t the focus for the specific site you’re building, I hope it gives some insight into why it’s so deeply connected to the rest of the platform. Appreciate the feedback all the same!
Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify my point: users should have the option to easily locate, disable, and fully remove the Member Area if they do not want it. At the moment, it feels hidden and unnecessarily difficult to remove, and even after following the available steps, it is not always clear whether it has been completely deleted.
Having a straightforward and transparent way to remove this feature would not only greatly improve the user experience, but also shows respect for those who bought their premium plans and help WIX retrospectively to do what they want en need to do. Thank you again for taking the time to reply.
