Looking for a solution:
Hi! Now that the Wix Forums are being discontinued, I am trying to figure out the best option. I really like the feel and functionality of the classic forums. I would like to use Wix Groups as Facebook style “special interest” groups for certain members, while having a Forum for my website’s entire community of members.
What are my options? I would really like to have the forums on my website instead of directing users elsewhere. Thanks!
As mentioned in the article Wix Forums will stay on the site but users will not be able to make new posts starting October 15th and the forum will be deleted on March 1st 2026.
If you do want to migrate the data from the forum to Wix Groups, you follow the steps outlined here (and those do work similarly to “special groups” within Facebook) and users can make topics where conversations will be threaded together.
I think the closest to having a general conversation and more specific groups would be labeling the groups as such so that the conversations move to appropriate group.
We urgently request that Wix Forums remain available as a stable option alongside Groups. Please do not delete or forcefully migrate Forums.
Our organization serves a community of elderly members (70+ years old), and we’ve invested hundreds of hours training them to use Wix Forums. For many, this has become their primary digital community space. Sudden removal or forced migration has devastating consequences:
Accessibility: Groups’ nested categories do not function as effectively as Forums for our needs.
Permissions & Roles: Member permissions do not import correctly, disrupting long-standing structures.
Content Management: Posts moving between Groups is unmanageable at scale and creates a massive labor burden for organizers.
Stability: Our members need consistency, not constant disruption. The perception that “services may disappear anytime” undermines trust in Wix for long-term adoption.
We are preparing to expand this system to a user base of 50,000+ members across multiple chapters. This transition has already caused unnecessary confusion and risks jeopardizing adoption altogether.
We respectfully ask Wix to:
Keep Forums as a “Legacy” option alongside Groups, without deletion or forced migration.
Provide stability assurances so communities can confidently rely on Wix as a long-term platform.
This change is not simply a feature update — it threatens the very foundation of how elderly communities interact, connect, and stay engaged. Please reconsider and provide a stable path forward for those who rely on Wix every day.
Youre directly harming a non-profit orginization thats over 100 years old, with thousands of users in the local community and preventing 50,000+ members from using a system we optimized and perfected with groups.
We want forums to stay, and we’re mailing your CEO via registered mail because of this.
Forums has to stay, simple as that, groups doesnt import or transition correctly.
Wix… Keep the Forums! You have a working, stable product already integrated into thousands of Wix-built sites. What’s the point of stopping site members from posting into them, and then deleting them altogether? Forcing us to transition to the vastly inferior Wix Groups is crazy, when all you need to do is announce you’re stopping development and support for the Forums and let us decide whether we want to stick with them or migrate over to Groups. Surely you can find a way.
