Global Html Embed Element in header not the same in Wix Studio as in Wix Editor

Hi,

When I create a page in Wix Editor, the Header acts as a single page object.
Meaning when navigating to another page any HTML Embeds I have in it are not paused.

For example I have a iframe embed pointing to another site.
The site is actually a custom stream audio player.

In Wix Editor , I can hit play button on the embed to get the audio to play, then navigate to another page. The audio will continue to play and not be interrupted and reloaded by the page navigation. I will get a continues play.

The new page will also load as expected.

But when I try and do the same in Wix Studio.

The html embed/ Audio stream play reloads.

It looks like the Wix Studio is actually using a different way of loading pages and headers, which is from scratch rather than the way Wix Editor does them.

Is the a way to do what I can do in Wix Editor in Wix Studio.
I would idly like to use Wix Studio to take advantage of is css and code features. But it will be a none starter if I cannot!

Cheers

Ohhh interesting!

Following. I’m intrigued.

I’m also curious about what would happen if it were rebuilt with custom elements.

I am still trialling it so cannot create a custom element to see.

Let me ask the team, but from first thoughts, I’m guessing this is because Headers in Studio are actually Global Sections, so can technically be placed anywhere on the page/can be detached from being a header.

Which would be different from the Wix Editor that has a header, and it’s always stuck to the top of the page, unless hidden

Hi @noahlovell ,

Did you have any luck in getting an answer from the team.

Cheers

I didn’t  Although I’m included to say from my own testing and experience that this is the way/expected in Studio.

Curious the use case/what type of site it is

It will be a radio streaming site.
The current site is https://ourmusicradio.com.
II am looking at wix to see if I can switch it’s to building to it.
I want to redesign it but more importantly it has a WP blog linked to it which I cannot display on the site without iframing it because if that is not done then the playing music will stop, I want to get away from using frames for the blog.

The most important thing is that when a user navigates to the blog or any other page the streamed music is not interrupted. Most radio station sites suffer this issue.

Ours does not because of the way I frames it but its ugly solution.

I discovered that the Global header/footers in wix editor are truly global in the sense that they will not reload when you navigate but the new content will .

Here is one of the sites I am testing components.
https://dipole-speller-0m.wixsite.com/my-site/blog

Click the play button and then navigate to the blog.

You will see it just works.

This is what breaks when built with studio.
As shown with this test site. Click play and the nav to the mixcload page

Wix possibly has an opportunity here to have thousands of Radio stations to use it to get away from this problem. But the stumbling block I ran into is this breaks in studio which gives us the other tools we need to get the site working as we would need it i.e JS / CSS support etc.

I guess still no answer to this from wix.?

Just followed round, but not heard anything

Cheers, its a bit frustrating not getting an answer.

Here is the current test site that possibly gives better illustration .
Click the listen button up top and then nav to the Blogs page using the nav menu or the gallery on the home page
