HELP ~ Code for site width adjustments

Please before responding, I know Wix guidelines set at 980px wide (optimised for tablets) and every responce has been "design within these guidelines". But my site visiters are not using tablets, they are on laptops/pc's so I need it optimised for them. I do not want to be restricted to designing a website which does not look visually appealing.

I use a 1768px wide screen, and it looks perfect for me, laptop users have less wide i.e 1280, and key info is cut off.

- I require assistance within Corvid, to adjust site page limits, as Wix support team have been unable to provide any help.

It has been documented so many times and yet no fix or temporary code given.

  • Wix fixed guidelines at 980px (optimised for tablet users)

  • Problem is 95% of my visiters are viewing on a laptop/desktop/mac. I have designed my website expecially for computer users. We really need these guidlines adjusted and an auto resizer enabled.

  • I was on the phone with Wix for over 1 hour last night (Im from UK, calling at 23:00) and got absolutely nowhere, the oporater couldnt understand what I was asking for even though there are many/requent requests about this. I contacted Corvid team with a raised ticket, again no solution or help.

  • The worrying thing is, I have been with wix for many years now on premium, and sites like wordpress already have this feature, with many wix users leaving to create with them. I cant understand why wix have not addressed this issue, when there are forum posts about this over 2 years old.

  • “Help Required” - Please if anyone is able to help provide a temporary fix, with some site code via corvid, please can someone provide it with a step-by-step guide.

I have designed my website on a large screen ratio, (1768px wide) and it look fantastic on my screen, when viewed on lower width screens, it looks poor, and when designed within the 980px guidelines it looks poor too. My competitor all have auto resizable resolution websites, so trying to compete is making it very hard.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Try adding a meta viewport tag to your SEO settings in the Wix Editor and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the reply @givemeawhisky
Its abit confussing for me, i need a step by step if possible.

I copied the code you wrote, and pasted it where i think you said (see below). im not sure I have done it right, because nothing has changed. Still cuts things off for my laptop when I view my page

SEO settings.

  1. Go to Settings in your site’s dashboard .

  2. Click the SEO tab.

  3. Scroll down to More SEO Settings .

  4. Click the link to open up your SEO settings in your Editor.

So i added the code you provided, and put in the box on this page (see below) and it said invalid.

From your instructions I cant find anywhere else to put it

I am wondering if one page is enough for good SEO promotion?
