I am wondering what kind of costs can I expect if hiring a SEO expert? I am just starting out and built my site in the standard editor, but am finding SEO a bit overwhelming. I don’t really want to spend my time learning how to properly optimize my site, with other more important things to do with the business taking up my time. I don’t have much of a budget, as I have been out of work for 6 months after surgery and just starting up a new, less physically demanding business. Can I find someone that won’t charge thousands per month to get it setup? I have been having difficulty finding clear answers so figured this would be a good place to ask.

If your site is well designed and your databases are well structured and your whole website makes sense → you don’*t need any seo → it will grow on it’s own.

Why you are so concerned about SEO? Creating organic traffic is probably the fastest way to grow a site. I need my site in front of people, or else I won’t sell products. Thus, SEO, to me, is an important instrument. You are the first person I have ever heard say not to bother with it

Once russian-dima was born here on this PLATFORM.
He created a simple (not even good working website, just for fun and learning reasons).
This page has no SEO-Optimizations or something else into this direction.
Normaly anybody should be visiting this page, since there was no SEO on it.
But let us do a little test…

Well we find a famous russian singer, his name is Dima-Bilan, yeahh it was not exactly what we were searching for → MAYBE YOU ARE RIGHT → SEO IS IMPORTANT !!!

Let’s scroll down a little bit the results on google…
I think i found my own page → RANKED ON FIRST GOOGLE-RESULT-PAGE, somehow magical without have used SEO at all.
What could be now the conclusion?
How did my ABANDONED and OLD page do that?
So maybe there are other ways of pushing your RANKING inside of SEARCH-ENGINES, or maybe you use a more direct way?
You’ve still proven nothing and have done in in a totally immature and quite frankly dickish manner. If you want people to actually type in your specific site name and have that come up, good on you and good luck to you. I want people to search a product or phrase and have my site rank and show up on google and other search engines. That will require a level of SEO. Your example is trash as you are simply typing your site name. Go look up a single product on a site with no SEO and tell me how that works out for you. Now if anyone with any actual information of substance can please post, that would be great.

I’ve worked as an SEO guy for over a decade. How much money you have to invest really depends on your goals and how competitive your niche is.
Often there is an initial cost for fixing technical stuff and doing basic onPage optimization. If your starting out by yourself this can range anywhere from $500 to around $2000 for local/small businesses.
Then to really rank on Google you need amazing content and backlinks, this is ongoing and if you want quality work, I would say it starts at around $800 if you find a good writer from another country where the cost of living is lower. Best in class content/copywriters easily charge $2’000+ for a single blog post for example. But then you still need backlinks.
I can’t tell you exact numbers, it depends on your situation. Just be careful with cheap offers. You always get what you pay for and qualilty work does take time.
