Hi,
I need my visitors to be able to download a copy of my game on my website. I created an installer for the game which is a .exe. Unfortunately, Wix does not seem to be fond of these… How could I get around Wix refusing my .exe? There must be a download feature that I missed somewhere right?
I don’t want to pass by we-transfer links or google drive since those look quite unprofessional.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated
filetransfer.io
(I do not affliate with the site at all)
- Upload file
- Choose Link
- Copy link and visit the link
- Copy the Download Link from the element with right click:

- Use this link in the button.
What happends is the file downloads in your site.
Hope it helped!
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I see there’s a limitation to 50 downloads max and expiry date. I can’t have any restrictions on this project.

Do you understand that it can’t be free?
All of their company profits come from selling the premium.
So either file hosting sites make money from ads (are free) or they sell a product (like this site here)
The price was very affordable. And if Wix does not have this feature, it might be the only way to achieve this.
Oh I didn’t seem to find any pricing! I’ll check it out I didn’t think I could pay for an upgrade. I’ll definitely consider it
thanks!

So there
It’s fine. I misunderstood, sorry.
Yes you will need to use a third party for this as Wix will not allow it, so you will have to pay for it like Alvar has already stated above, or you have to just use the free versions like Dropbox or Google Drive for example.
This has been asked before in 2018 and don’t expect to see Wix stance changing anytime soon.

So, I’m trying to import a GameSalad game into my website with Editor X, and I can’t import .exe files, any solutions?
You can compress it and make it zip or rar then you can upload it. It works for me
