I have a single video box & don’t want it to autoplay. So currently it’s just the first frame of the video which is black. I guess I could re-edit the video & change the first frame but figured I’d see if I was just overlooking something obvious. Thank you if you have the answer.
I do this at the video service or using a video editor BEFORE import. If at YouTube or Vimeo, you can add a still at anytime.
Yeah on the wix regular version you can select a thumbnail but it doesn’t appear to be a similar process. I’d rather keep the video the same but I guess if that’s not an option I’ll just have to re-edit it. Fifties figured it was worth asking incase I was just overlooking a setting somewhere.
If you want to set thumbnails for your videos in EditorX you can do that, but I recommend you using the Wix Pro Gallery instead of the Wix Video App ; I know it might sound counter-intuitive, but it’s at least the way I know for adding video thumbnails, and the Pro Gallery admits both images & video (even plain text with color backgrounds as if fb posts).
You just manually add your videos in the Pro Gallery (the normal way, not the dataset connection way) and on its media manager it will allow you to set a custom image as thumbnail preview (a little tooltip at the bottom of the item).
Using the gallery instead of the Video app will have its obvious following limitations, such as adding videos from a network (like YouTube or Vimeo) or a whole channel, along with the special layouts that are only available from the Video app, but you’ll have 2 decide i guess, if the thumbnails are more important or if the solution satisfies your needs anyway.
oh xd lol (this was not possible before i ain’t lying)
Hey, I’ve been there too! To set a thumbnail for your video, you can often do it within your video editing software. If you’re using free video editor mac, it’s usually in the export or save settings. Check out the options there, and you should be able to pick or create a thumbnail for your video.
