How do you add an element in the area of a container without it attaching it?

I use wix studio and everytime I try to put any element in the area of a container, it attaches it automatically. I’ve tried to look it up using the escape key, control key, and other things I’ve found but nothing seems to work. I’ve had this problem for awhile and it’s frustrating so I was hoping there was some way to fix it.

When you move elements, it will attach if your cursor is dragging an element and lets go over an element it can be attached to.

The best way to adjust is to:

  • Make sure the cursor doesn’t go into the “attach area”
  • Get the element as close as possible without attaching
  • Use the inspector to adjust it’s position

if the whole section is a container is there a way to not attach it?

Never mind! I can just click without dragging. thank you so much for your help

I’ve had a similar problem before. It’s really not a pretty way to do it, but manually changing the size of elements so I have “somewhere to drag to” solved it. And then change the sizes to their correct values.

Feels really “hard-coded” though…
It would be cool if you could just drag inside the Layers window!
