How does Session Recordings choose which visitors it records?

What I’m trying to do
Implementing Session Recordings to better analyze my users’ behaviors.

What I’ve tried so far
We’ve blocked our office’s IP Address on Google Analytics so that our numbers aren’t tracking our staff visiting our site.

Questions:

  • How does Session Recordings choose the 10 users to record?
  • Is there a way to make sure it doesn’t record our staff who are visiting our site?

Blocking your IP in GA only affects Google Analytics tracking, not Wix Session Recordings , those are separate.

Wix uses a sampling method to randomly capture up to 10 sessions per day, not per user. These are chosen automatically, you can’t manually pick which users are recorded.

If you and your staff log into the Wix dashboard/editor while browsing, those sessions are not recorded.
But if staff are browsing the live site as visitors, they can be recorded.
