How to add Tags field into Dynamic Pages keyword seo page settings?

Hello everyone,

I am using wix studio editor.

What I am trying to achieve is in my CMS i have a ‘Tags’ data field. Where I enter keywords for each of my products that we display in a collection on our website to sell.

I want to use this Tags field and add it as a field into the ‘Product Page’ dynamic pages SEO settings but when I try to add the Tags field. I dont see it as an option to choose.

Why is this? and how do I make it a clickable option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks everyone.

Tags field screenshot in our CMS

Your tag fields in the CMS appear to be empty from the screenshot you’ve provided.

Try adding stuff to it and try again?

There are keywords, just lots of them

Hey, thanks for providing the images!

Try following the steps in this video:

I watched this video and at first he cant add the Tags field into the seo keyword section, but then there is an edit/cut in the video and then all of sudden he can add the Tags field but he didnt show what he did to fix it.

In that case, you can try reaching out to the Wix Support Team.
They’ll help you with the issue.

That’s because the guy realized a Tag field is not compatible with the SEO settings :joy: He probably paused video to change the field type.

You can only select Text fields. Also, if the field has too many characters, it could give you an error also.

You cannot force something to be selectable via code. Wix will only ever show the fields that are compatible with whatever you are trying to connect.

In your case, if the tag field was only intended for keywords, simply change the field type to Text. BUT if you actually use the tags for other things then it would be best for you to create a second field (column) to add those words as plain text.

Thank you codequeen for helping me.

I just want to use the tags field in CMS to help my google ranking.

So do i just setup a text based field in CMS and enter my keywords that way? Will WIX & google actually read them as keywords or just as text?

Forgive my ignorance, I am only a beginner when it comes to Wix studio

I made a text field in CMS but is there any particular way that I am meant to write my keywords so that WIX and google will understand them correctly?

Wix takes care of marking them as keywords. Text is the format they need to be in so Wix can do it’s thing (regardless of which editor you are using).

Short terms or short phrases is good to use.

Just google “how to create keywords for SEO” and you will get better ideas as to what to specifically write for your items.

also wix cms is creating really ugly url slugs that I think is making google not index my product pages.

I don’t want the % sign in my url but I think it is being created by the use of a ‘,’ comma in my title

I dont want to not be able to use a comma in my product titles.

How do i manually edit the text that is used for my url extensions.

I want it to read collection/16th-century-gothic-oak-chest

So create a column called URL ending and select that to be the URL ending via the dynamic page settings.

You don’t have to use the title field.

In the url field does it have to be as follows:

https://www.websitename.com/collection/16th-century-gothic-oak-chest

or

/collection/16th-century-gothic-oak-chest

I created url field in CMS, but in dynamic page settings it doesnt have the clickable option of url from the drop down menu

Just the ending.

That way the instead of the page settings being

.com/collection/titleName

it will be

.com/collection/urlEnding
