How to connect Drop-Down list with database

I am connecting the drop-down and its list with the database but when i connect it then i am not able to see the list
please have a look at this videos do let me know!

to connect the list first we have to connect the dataset twice.
one for the value and one for the list but should we connect the value and list label+value to the same field in the database or we should create different fields in the database?
