Question:
I only started with Wix late last year & still struggling with some of the finer points. My question relates to having 2 websites - I’d originally created one for a church, but then wanted to create one for myself. My problem now is that in order to work on one I have to log out of the other - is there a way to have each site operating totally separately so that I can have them both open at the same time if I wish, or at least be logged into them so I don’t have to keep logging in & out (if that makes sense?)?

I think you’re talking about having two Wix accounts. That is - you need to log in with two different email IDs.
In that case, yes you can only log into one Wix account at one time.
So if the church website is built using, lets say, email1@example.com, and your personal website is built using email2@example.com, you will need to log in and out of each account depending on which site you need to work on.
However the good news is that you can have multiple sites under the same account. Which means you can manage your personal website and the church website from the same account simultaneously, i.e. email2@example.com.
To do this, you can simply transfer the church website from email1@example.com to the one that has your personal website, i.e. email2@example.com (or vice versa). You can follow the guide below in order to do that:
Or as an alternative solution, you can add your personal account (i.e. email2@example.com to your church site as an Admin (Co-Owner) which will also give you full access to both the sites from your personal account, without changing the main owner of the sites. Here’s how you can do it:
