Image names used on my home page show up in the Google search description

Question:
Why do the image names used on my home page show up in the Google search description

What are you trying to achieve:
I don’t want this to appear in the search results: “KCS5.png. Macaroons.png. KCS2.png. C1.png.”

What have you already tried:
I checked the SEO settings and apart from adding alt names for the images I didn’t do anything else.

Additional information:
[Include any other pertinent details or information that might be helpful for people to know when trying to answer your question.]

When you set an SEO meta description, it’s simply a recommendation to search engines that “this is what we’re recommending as the meta description”. Google can (and does) use different descriptions based on the text in your site if it’s a better reflection of the site and search.

Things to check (if you haven’t already)a:

  • Updating image alt text
  • Updating SEO meta description

Since this isn’t an instant change, and sometimes takes time for Google to recrawl sites etc., you may not see this updated immediately

Thanks! From what I can see, it’s currently just using the text (and image names) from my site. I’ll give it a few days and see if it updates.
