Import CSV into Editor x Collection

Really stumped on this one.

Have created 4 reference fields with appropriate field types, populated them with values, and connected them to a collection that will hold main data. The main data collection in table form works correctly. I can enter rows manually and the references dropdowns work.

The prob is when I try import a CSV (Utf-8). The heading on the CSV matches the field names on the collection, and the CSV values exactly match the reference field values.

Funny thing is some of the values import, but with errors. In other fields the values are “untitled”. And in one field three of records are “untitled” and six have correct values but have errors => “the value does not match the field type Reference”

Have included images.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks

Hey @ublizi ,

Thanks for the screenshots. The issue here is that reference in terms of the content manager is the information pulled from other datasets . You can learn more about working with reference fields here:
https://support.wix.com/en/article/content-manager-using-reference-fields-to-display-content-from-multiple-collections
Here’s an example of how a reference field should look:

I think when you’re importing the dataset based on the CSV , it seems that you may want to use a text field.

Thanks Roberto
Still haven’t got it working. Workaround is dropdowns in excel so when saving as CSV and importing, the values are all consistent. Eg all 12X12 rather than some 12X12 and others 12 x 12

Can you share the CSV file here? I would want to check it out.

If you are unable to for any reason, you can reach out to our customer care team to see if they can help. I would recommend choosing to reach out to the content manager team as it more directly pertains to them instead of Editor X.

Thanks Roberto

I was able to import the collection. Again, I think the issue might be with the usage of a reference field. I made a video below showing how I imported this.

Thanks for the help Roberto.

Re the reference fields, was trying to use them as lookups. For data consistency.
Will take good look at your vid and other advice.

Thanks again for the assistance

Let me know if any issues. You can still use the text as the lookups if you need to filter things. https://support.wix.com/en/article/filtering-database-content-displayed-on-your-page
