@taxicabrabat Answering is the best but as long as the forum is driven by individuals like me and more people that do not get paid we will answer when there is time over to help outside our own business. I think Wix have more people on board now than they had in the beginning but I also believe they need even more people on “experts support” to be more responsive.

I also think that it is important to know that there is a distinction between getting support and getting consulting help building something. A lot of questions asked are so big that they are made for the Wix Arena and a project and not for a small support forum.

But the better the users get using the forum and following the guidelines the better the results will be coming back to the users.

I also believe that if a user would take the time to read through articles done by Wix and also walk through the API Reference first before asking or just do a search in the header of the Wix Code site a lot of questions will never be asked because the solution is already presented.

I think that we need patience and understanding, Wix Code is still a beta product, meaning that things will change over time. Also think that we shall be very happy that Steve Cropper is taking his true time trying to make the community better together with all of us. Thank you Steve!

@andreas-kviby I would say yes, especially the most common things that are used. Like custom login, custom members pages, custom pay/subscription sites, etc. The “guides” on these are terrible. I have tried doing the list 2 listed myself for months and can never get them to work even in the most basic sense following the instructions to the letter. So being able to buy or access to a very detailed step by step for these kind of things would be imho invaluable.
(Or expand the capabilites of the existing wix stuff to allow customization would be even better :wink: )

HOW CAN WE MAKE WIX CODE A BETTER FORUM COMMUNITY?

I know right…come on people! Here’s an easy one…maybe there should be better moderating and control over the forum posts, especially if you were the one to create the topic?

This pretty much goes along with my previous suggestion on my dislike for seeing

at the bottom of tutorials. Really bothers me…just start a forum topic on your tutorial or add a comment section to speak directly with the person who posted it!!!

I’ve been going through tutorials relating to questions I have and also reviewing questions similar to mine on the forums. In the forums I’m seeing a lot of the Wix support or affiliates just posting links to their own personal tutorials and/or videos. This also happens if you email support. I get it, Wix covers a lot, but the fact that people continue to have questions on this topics is no mistake. It is either the tutorial/video/post did not answer the users specific question or there is disorganization of the information. The Wix docs aren’t too bad, but could be condensed a bit better.

@tropicalsnow ya let the post thread maker delete comments/replys that do not relate to the original topic. This self policeing method would force people to open up a new thread if their question did not relate to the original topic.

By the way has anyone seen the new mission impossible film ?? :grin:

I spend at forum hours every day looking for things. Very helpful are those Wix Editors where i’m sure everything works because expert do it from beginning. If You want i can make website where there are typical codes people look for and use. Things for beginners but explained like Steve do. 10 the same pages but different search buttons. 10 pages with different connection to collection. etc, etc I can do it but someone needs to check it before publish with codes. Like big site where people can enter and see inside codes. You have templates for graphics. Tamplates for codes could be usefull too.
More complicated but very usefull would be tutorials like exercise.
Lesson1. make button to save datset.
lesson 5. make query from collecion and put to repeater
lesson 6. filter repeater by code and …
lesson 10

thats lot of work but I all the time think how to make that at forum people ask only difficult question and try to solve small problems themselves. Than after some time someone from moderator can add question from forum to lessons. Its really waste of time to read post that finishes "i found it thanks’ and there is no final code or i copy code that has mistake or is partial. I think best explains should be in some datbase

After year databese would be huge and there would be less questions i think.
