I’m currently working to integrate a local payment gateway to work on WIX Website.
but every time I test the payment I get this popup " Connect payment to start …"
Another question is… is it possible to add the create payment event on the Checkout button?

so when a user clicks on checkout is gonna be redirected to the payment gateway and if the payment was Succesful done redirect him back to thanks page on Wix
Adding a payment provider to Wix Stores does not require any code. You must add it via the Wix Dashboard settings. And it must not be empty in order to test. There is no sandbox for testing payment transactions. You must upgrade your site to the appropriate plan that will allow you to accept payments AND you must make a real purchase. (I have brought this up with few product managers during feedback sessions ----- for all Wix app products. #featurerequest )
No, you cannot code that checkout button on Wix Stores.
Yes, you can add 2Checkout via code if you build a store from scratch. (I have worked with this API before.)
You dont need code to add 2Checkout via dashboard settings. Wix will give you compatible payment providers depending on your location.

Just to make sure there is no way to integrate a local payment like #paytabs or #payfort so when users click on buy it’s gonna redirect the user to the payment checkout on a new tab/window and if the payment were successful redirect user back to Wix thanks page?!

If you want to request other payment providers for Wix Stores, then you need to be going through Wix Support as it is not a Wix Corvid issue and therefore not an issue for this Corvid Forum.
