Hey, is anyone else experiencing this today?
If I publish the site as is, it works. The published version accesses the databases and all. But if I do any (and I mean ANY) change in code - like for example just hide a button, or anything trivial that won’t change anything really, then publish the site… the published site won’t get anything from the databases. It won’t even let users sign in or anything! Nothing from the databases!
I tried to use the site history and go back to older versions - it is all the same. It works if not touched, add even “//” to anywhere in the code and it stops functioning in the published site.
What’s wrong??

…all my databases stopped working this morning. I get a ‘failed to load initial data 404: Not found’ error in the console log on my live site
Ok, so I am not the only one! Can anyone from Wix team please look into this?
Hi everyone,
We indeed had some issues affecting databases.
The issue has been resolved.
Please let us know if you still see 404 errors. Thanks!
Has this issue just re-occurred? Getting exactly the same symptoms - failed to load initial data 404: Not found’ error in the console log on my live site…the live site worked perfectly this morning and now isn’t connecting to the database. Can someone from the Wix team kindly look in to this please? Thanks
I also have these problems. Things are broken all the time now. These things will lose me customers fast.
Yes, this is a nightmare…))))
Thank you - very much appreciated.
Issue appears resolved… the site worked throughout the issue (navigating, static content, logging in users etc), except for the pages retrieving and saving data from the database which failed - with detail in the javascript console noted above.
All websites go down every so often, it is just the case that the bigger companies have their own IT support within their own companies that can look at and inspect and sort out their own companies website for whatever reason it goes down for.
With using Wix you are getting all the website powered, looked after and taken care of by Wix, so if something goes wrong with Wix then you have to wait for Wix’s own teams to get in there and sort out the problem.
No good just moaning every five minutes if something is not working, just look at Facebook and Twitter for example when they go down for the day, it happens and when it happens to Wix they will try to sort it out as soon as they possibly can.
If you are wanting things to happen at the click of your own finger then get your own web hosting and servers up and running and get your own IT support team to look after your website for you.
It could even be a quick bit of maintenance by Wix that happens regularly to keep the websites running fine, or would you prefer them to not check and leave your websites as they are and not update them when needed?
To do this regular maintenance Wix does need to do it sometime and that sometime will not be perfect with everybody around the world who uses Wix. They do it during the night for yourself and it will be a working day for somebody else in the world, the maintenance time will never suit everybody but it has to be done!
Telling paying Wix customers to go get their own web hosting seems like a less than optimal way to support the Wix platform. “Wanting things to happen at the click of your own finger” is also not what I am asking for or expect. FWIW.
