#SEOPros
Hi SEO lovers, Magnus from the SEO Pros Tribe here My purpose of this post is to tell you a bit about what’s happening with SEO in Wix and how we can use the new features that Wix has launched today to get our own and our customers website a higher ranking in Google.
You have chosen to go into this post and read about the new SEO Panel because you are serious about making Wix websites and you know that SEO is the most important factor when it comes to growing your business and staying ahead of your competitors and help you customers doing the same.
I have deep respect for that, so let’s get started
What is the Advanced SEO Panel and where can you find it?
The Advanced SEO Panel is an extension of the already existing panel that you know.
What’s new is that you will have a ⟩ in the top of the panel. If you click on the arrow you will get into the new SEO Panel.
What would it look like?
Customize your Social Share
The first panel you will see is a panel called “Social Share”.
As a new feature this panel allows you to customize how the page will look when it is shared on social media. You can customize the Page Title on the post and the meta description.
Advanced SEO
The first feature you’ll meet in the Advanced SEO panel is “Structured Data”.
Structured Data
Structured Data also called Microdata is a piece of code that tells Google what’s on the page.
Well you might think that the page titles and page descriptions are doing that, but the structured data tells Google more specific think about your page. For example you can tell Google if you have any reviews on your page and then Google will show the review stars in the SERP (Search Engine Results Page). Here is an example from our website www.webdesignerne.dk
See? That looks awesome And I can tell you, that it has increased our CTR (Click Through Rate) a loooot.
You can tell Google a lot more with the Microdata and I will make a post about that later.
Custom Meta Tag
So the next feature is custom meta tags. With a meta tag you can tell google the language of your website or you can tell if the link you have on your page should be a “no-follow” link. A no-follow tell Google not to follow the link.
Facebook use the no-follow so when you are posting and they automatically insert a “no-follow” tag on the link so Google won’t follow the link. No-follow is normally used on user generated websites, like social media and blogs, where the owner of the website can’t control the content that are generated on the website.
This is a very technical part of SEO and that why I keep it short here.
Canonical Tag
One of my favorites I wrote a post about the Canonical Tag and I will recommend reading the post. Very short, the canonical tag tells Google what the original URL is. This is a very very important SEO factor that you should know.
Hope you enjoyed my post. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will give you my best answer
