Using Wix for a Wedding Website is not really suitable.
We have different event’s and not everyone is invited everywhere.
The idea is to send out the link to all guests and require them to register. Once they register, we will move them into member’s group giving them access the menu buttons and site’s they are given access. Unfortunatly the Member Access has no effect on visibility, so everyone see’s also to what event’s he or she is not invited to…
Is there a solution?
Hello Roger,
If I’m understanding you correctly, you want certain members to have access to pages that concern them only and not information in regards to other clients. I have not yet used/tested this function myself, but perhaps this will help:
Under Site Menu, select the page that you want limited access to. Press the “…” button beside the page and select “Settings”. In Page Settings, click the Permissions tab and then select “Members Only”. Scroll down to the bottom and under what is currently the final option (Which members can access this page?), select “Only selected members or paying customers”. After that’s complete go to the link at the bottom of page “Manage site members”.
Now you need to assign the members into roles. As an example, you can create a role called - Smith Party - by selecting “Member Permissions”, currently located on the top right of the screen, followed by selecting “+ New Role”. After creating the new role name and pressing “Save Role”, you will then be taken to the “Members” tab. You now can hit “+ Add Members” and select which members are part of the - Smith Party -. Once complete, a green banner currently appears at the top of the screen where you can hit a link to “Set Permissions” (this is only temporary so you must do it quickly). Then you will be able to set the page permissions for the -Smith Party- role, choosing which Members-Only Pages they have access to. This will ensure that members who have -Smith Party- roles can only view Smith Party pages and members with -Austin Party- roles can view Austin Party pages. Hope this helps!
