I suddenly can’t add links to my website text anymore using editor. When I try to click the icon, it tells me I need to remove the line break first. How do I do that and where can I find it?
I guess you’re referring to hyperlinking text?
If so, this article has more info about how it works - Wix Editor: Adding a Link to Text | Help Center | Wix.com
Specifically this:
Note:
You cannot link text that spans over 2 paragraphs if you separated those paragraphs using the Enter key. To resolve this, you can use Shift + Enter to create the line space instead of the Enter key.
Yes I meant hyperlinks. but my linkicon doesn’t work at all. When I highlight 1 word in text and try to click the linkicon it says I have to delete the line break first…
It looks like the problem is with the line break in your text. When you highlight a word, make sure it’s not part of two separate paragraphs. Instead of pressing Enter, try using Shift + Enter to add space, and then try adding the link again.
ok thanks. but I get the error message on every page in my website…
Got it, If the error shows up on every page, it could be something else. Try looking at your site’s settings or code for any broken links or mistakes.
This is happening to me too, and there are no line breaks to delete. It’s just one word of text. I’m thinking it’s a bug? Is there some way to ping support?
I am also having this issue. I have tried the things it lists above. Seems like a very weird bug.
Me too, it is driving me mad and my client is NOT happy.
Has anyone found a solution because it’s making me insane.
I constantly have this problem too. I’ve removed any "line breaks’ and it still happens. Here is a workaround: Create a brand new text box, type the word(s) you’d like to link, link it, then cut and paste into your paragraph. Annoying and time-cosuming and ridiculous? Yes. But at least it works. It’s the only thing I can find to solve this.
THIS WORKED FOR ME

if you are trying to CREATE A HYPERLINK from the text - and Wix says “remove the line break” - forget about this video. The issue is that you are clicking on the WRONG HYPERLINK ICON. There is another hyperlink icon just ABOVE the text (forget about the one in the square) - makes sense? it solved my issue!
THANK YOU!!! This solved the issue immediately!
