Hi Uri:
Did you ever find the Wix code developer you were looking for?
And if so, would you recommend him/her? Thank you

What exactly are you looking for?

If it is just a smaler code-fix, perhaps it can aslo be solved here at this forum.

Hi russian-dima:
Thank you for your reply. I am looking for the following:
We have a website on Wix where we sell our products. It is linked to the POS (point of sale system) at our physical store. So each product is available online and details are automatically synced to the website (name, price, quantity on hand).
We would like to show a different price online than what we have at our system at the store. Namely, 15% off all products. Since all items are synced automatically (it is a one way integration) - any change I make on the backend of the website, gets changed back to what is in the system in the store.
So I think I simply need a “code” that takes the price and reduces it by 15% and shows THAT on the product page on the website.
There is a discount feature available, but that only gets shown once customer goes to checkout. I want to show the price initially as already with the 15% reduction.

Just for reference - our POS system is Shopkeep and Ecwid is the bridge between Shopkeep and Wix.

Thank you for your help.
Nina

So when you are talking about ONLINE-STORE you surely use Wix-Stores, right?

Meanwhile you can do a lot of things on wix-stores with the wix-stores-API.

So i would suggest you to take a look there first. Perhaps you will find your solution on your own. And if you have issues, just post the issue here into the forum. And when at the end, you still are thinking of engage an devoloper i would reccomend you for example —> J.D. or Ahmad. You will find them here at forum. Of course there are also some more forum users here which could surely help you to realize your wishes, like —> GiriZano, Certified Code - Velo Certified. Perhaps even Yisrael can do the service for you (if he has enough free-time).

I myself do not use Wix-Stores, because of this i am not very familiar with it and all it’s functions. Perhaps in future, i will also be able to help in at this part.

You can tag any user with a —@ infront of his name, to let them know, of your message.

Good luck.

Dear Russian-dima -
thank you for your quick and helpful reply.

Unfortunately I am not using Wix Stores. Because our system in the stores (Shopkeep) only integrates with Ecwid. And in turn, I think Ecwid integrates with Wix.

Not sure if I should try first a contact through Ecwid first.
And then if not, come back to see if any of your suggestions could help me. Thanks again.
Nina

Sorry but i can’t find any integrations between “ecwid” and Wix.

No available NPM-packages.

@Nina
Please allow me to utter a word of caution here. If you do not know what communicates with what and how, it is … , let’s call it ‘brave’ to start from a random point of view. As RussianDima said, the obvious choices are crossed out already. But it leaves a whole avalanche of other possibilities open: the communication could be done thru http-functions, a script running inside an html-window, maybe even the POS writes to a Google Sheet and your Wix site retrieves it using a webhook thru Zapier, just to name a few options.
In normal circumstances you would inquire with the original developer, but, I am taking a wild guess here, this venue is closed, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, on this Forum.
The sane course of action would be to have somebody with a background in Wix, to have a look at the site and code and give you a breakdown of what does what and where to implement the solution. Without this, you will be going around in circles.
If you need some reliable people to have a look first (this is usually not free), I can recommend some Masters (no, I am not available).

Hi GiriZano:
Thank you for your message.
Yes, I don’t claim to know what I am talking about and how everything is connected. So I agree - if we have to do custom work that is specific to our site, then it makes sense to first understand the structure to then decide how to best solve the problem.
The fact that there are a total of 3 separate entities involved in the website makes it confusing for me to know who to reach out to. (Shopkeep: is our POS application at our physical stores, Ecwid: is the ecommerce platform pulling data out of Shopkeep, and Wix is the website app).
I recently heard from Ecwid who said that there was no way that I can have a different price displayed on the website than the one that is being synced from Shopkeep to them.
So, to the extent that you can provide me with some contacts to reach out to - I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Nina

Displaying a different price in Wix should not be the problem. But getting that price back into the other two might. Anyway, I left a note on another Forum to point others in your direction (but I can’t make any promises that somebody will, it would prob. need knowledge of ShopKeep and Ecwid.)

Hi GiriZano:
Thank you.
But I do not need to get that price back into “the other two”
I just want to display a different price on the website (Wix).
The issue is that the price is being fed by what is on Shopkeep > Ecwid > Wix

All you need is to find the right CODE-PART, which fest the DATA from the other 2 instances.

As Giri-Zano alteady mentioned, this could be working by using HTTP-FUNCTIONS or other possible communication ways, like a HTML-Component and so on.

When you have found the right line, you will be able to manipulate the output, in your case → the prince.

Yes, and that is what i need help with.

if anyone thinks they can help me with this, please let me know.
Thank you

Give Giri-Zano a try. He is surely be able to handle it. I could also do a try, but not sure, if i can handle it.

I am up to my eyeballs in work, sorry. @RussianDima: why don’t you have a look at it? I know you by now and you are pretty serious. If no one else answers, just ask Nina to make a copy of the site and grant you access (so original is left undisturbed), do NOT Publish it and have a look at the code inside editor to find out how it works. I am always available for help if you need some. The financial arrangement is between you and Nina, don’t want any part of it.

Good idea. I would first take a carefully look on it, before i can make a promise , but if you (Giri) are on my side, why not? How much time do i have to figure this out?

You will find more informations in my PROFILE.

P.S. Financial aspect. Who already worked with me knows, i do not ask for money, but for some donation if possible .

So it’s on you Nina

Give me some insights into your issue and i will take a look on it to help you out.

Why did you all choose Wix instead of WordPress? I am just curious.

Nice thread; I have not seen any threads dedicated to Wix so far. Thanks for the answers, you all. I think that I will stay with WordPress for now. I think it’s older and more reliable. I also like the abundance of widgets and plugins that I use, and I cannot imagine creating a website without them. There is something about WordPress that makes me choose it over and over again, and I don’t even know what it is for sure. It is just more reliable, and companies like prosvit.design are always ready to help you with the design if you are stuck. There is no network like this for Wix so far.
