I am trying to use the Restaurant Menu (New) for a client and noted that you cannot have a BASE PRICE any longer with options/variants. This is fundamentally broken. A menu needs to show the base price and then +2.00 or +1.00 for variants, NOT the full prices. To a restaurant owner this is bad practice because then you only see higher prices, and psychologically it’s easier to sell something with +$2.00 than it is to show “$19” for the variant.
As an example. I have Nachos and they are $17. It should list them as $17. Then I have below the description some additions like Carne Asada for an additional $2. I do NOT want to show $19 becuase it’s not good from a pricing point of view. It’s better to show the base price next to the Nachos and then down below see “+$2”.
Why would this option be taken away? The client is super angry and now I have to go back to the old version? Seems there must be something wrong here.
I’ll note that most online menus I’ve ever seen show a base price and then a “+$1” or whatever for options. It’s kind of standard practice.
