Max content width in Wix Studio?

First timer on Wix, I come from Wordpress. My boss is considering switching all of our sites to Wix.

I designed a site in the editor at a width of 1200px, when I publish it, it is 100% width. This looks bad, especially on larger screens. I’ve been through all the settings, but have not been able to find a way to set a max width for the content? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hey @Guy_Neyens!

Firstly, this is great feedback, and I’ll be sure to pass it on.

To answer the question, there are a couple of options available here. Out of the box, Wix Studio uses Scale Proportionally, meaning when components are added to the editor, they naturally scale in proportion to the size of the screen.

To work around this, you could enable Advanced CSS grid on a section, and create 3 columns. The middle column would be set with min/max measurements with the outer columns having a responsive unit like “1fr”.

This way, everything in the middle column would hit a “max-width” and not grow any larger.

I’d recommend also checking out the Studio Essentials course if you haven’t already - https://www.wix.com/studio/academy/courses/wix-studio-essentials-course

Hope this helps. How are you finding Studio otherwise?
