<meta name="twitter:title" ...>

I’m having trouble withHow can I completely remove the automatically generated <meta name="twitter:title" ...> tag from the <head> of my Wix website?

Wix is automatically adding this tag to my pages:

<meta name="twitter:title" content="...">

I do not want to change its content — I want to completely remove the tag from the HTML source / <head>.

I have already checked the SEO settings and social sharing settings, but I cannot find an option to disable or remove this automatically generated tag.

Is there a supported way to prevent Wix from generating this tag?

If not, can this be done using Wix Custom Code, Velo, or another Wix-supported method that actually removes the tag from the rendered HTML/source?

I specifically need to know whether the tag can be prevented from being generated, rather than simply removed from the DOM after the page loads.

Short answer: no, there isn’t currently a setting that stops Wix from generating that tag in the first place. The twitter:title (and the og: tags alongside it) get injected server-side from your page’s SEO title/social share settings before your Custom Code runs, so Custom Code or Velo can’t intercept the response and strip it out before it reaches the HTML source, they can only add to the head after the fact, which is why you’d just end up with a duplicate tag rather than a removed one.

A few things worth doing instead of chasing full removal:

If you don’t want a DIFFERENT value, the simplest path is making sure your page’s SEO panel title/description are set the way you want, since that’s literally where the tag’s content comes from, not something separate to disable.

If the issue is actually that you don’t want Twitter Card previews at all on specific pages, there’s no per-tag toggle, so this is really a feature request, worth filing via Help > Contact Support so it’s tracked rather than re-asked each time.

If you’ve genuinely got a case where the tag causes a real problem (duplicate content validation, a scraper choking on it, etc.) rather than just preference, that’s worth describing since there may be a different workaround depending on the actual symptom.
