Wix has this meta tag automatically placed in my additional tags for the blog: <meta name="ai-generation-disabled" content=""/>
I understand that this restricts genai platforms like chatgpt and claude from referencing my work. I have tried multiple ways but cannot seem to remove this tag. What is this sorcery?
I’ve chatted this through with the team
Would you be able to share a little more about where you see this? Is this in the site dashboard, or in the live site itself?
Hey! apologies for the delayed response. Attached an image of the Page Source of all my published posts. “ai-generation-disabled” pops up all the time. Also attached the image of the meta tag. Can you please help with this? I was getting decent searches on chatgpt but it all crashed to 0.
Thank you - the team’s checking it
Hi,
Any update please? Thanks!
Hey! I spoke to the team further about this - the tag is purely cosmetic as an internal config that doesn’t affect anything. It’s not rendered as an actual <meta> tag in the site HTML, so won’t have an effect on SEO/GEO.
That said, they understand it’s confusing to see it in the site dashboard, so are working to have that removed
Hi! Thanks for the update. The meta tag nonetheless still shows up in the source code of every post i publish so i am thinking it really does impact me there. Could you please help get it removed? Many thanks!
I’ve confirmed with both our SEO and Blog teams that this is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect SEO/GEO. It’s not rendered as a <meta> tag in the final HTML
