Missing 'Corners' setting on Popup/Lightbox background

Hi,

I’m running into an issue while designing a popup in Wix Studio and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I want to round the corners of my popup window. When I select other elements inside the popup, the “Corners” setting appears perfectly fine in the right-hand Design inspector. However, when I click on the actual background of the popup (the main base where you can change the background coloUr), the “Corners” option is completely missing from the panel.

Currently, it’s stuck at 0px and there is no UI option to change it.

Details:

  • I can change the background colour without any issues, so I know I have the background selected.

  • I’ve checked the Layers panel, but the setting still won’t appear for the main background.

Does anyone know why this happens, or is there a specific workaround/wrapper container I need to use to get the corner radius option to show up for the main popup window?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I have come across this once or twice before. The usual way that I work around this is:

  • Set the background to 0% opacity
  • Add a container and stretch it
    • You can now style with the full container properties

Alternatively, I think there’s a workaround that applies custom CSS to the popup container - although I don’t have that snippet to hand.

Noah’s CSS suggestion is the right instinct — here’s the actual route.

Open the Code panel on the left, click Start Coding if it’s your first time,
then Page Code, then global.css under CSS.

Rather than guessing at Wix’s internal class for the lightbox background, give
it your own class. Select the background element on the canvas, and in the CSS
panel type a class name under “Custom classes”. Then write the rule in
global.css:

.my-lightbox-bg {
border-radius: 16px;
overflow: hidden;
}

The overflow line matters — without it the corner radius clips visually but
child content can still square off the edges.

One thing to check before you invest time: Wix maintains a supported-elements
list for CSS editing, and I haven’t confirmed the lightbox background is on
it. If the custom class doesn’t take, that’s your answer and Noah’s
opacity-zero-plus-styled-container workaround is the one that ships.
