Mobile Editor – Containers Showing as Nested Even Though Desktop is Correct

Hi everyone,

I’ve run into a major issue with my Contact page in the classic Wix Editor.

  • On Desktop view, my layout is perfect — all four container boxes (boxSpeaking, boxBooks, boxInvesting, boxMedia) are direct siblings under the page.

  • On Mobile view, Wix keeps showing these containers as nested inside each other in the Layers panel, even though they’re flat in Desktop.

  • Because of this, the Mobile layout is completely broken — I can’t separate the boxes or move fields/labels cleanly.

  • I’ve already tried duplicating the page, rearranging layers in Desktop, and hiding/revealing elements in Mobile. Nothing fixes the false “subordination.”

  • There’s no option to “Reset Mobile Layout” or “Detach” in my version of the editor.

I’ve spent over 12 hours trying to fix this, and it seems like either a bug or a limitation of the classic Mobile editor.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround to force Mobile to rebuild from the correct Desktop hierarchy without losing the rest of my mobile optimizations?

Do you have a link to the page we can check? It sounds like you did what I would suggest of checking the layers panel and while not necessary to duplicate a page, that is similar to adding new boxes to the page to make sure there isn’t an issue.

It sounds like it might be an issue and if you haven’t already reached out to customer care, you could also report it as outlined here.

Definitely let us know if you do reach out to the team and what the resolution was.
