I’ve sent this feedback to Wix already but I figured I’d post here as well. I have had several clients that want to use the bookings app similar to how events or the hotel app works and unfortunately we just can’t achieve what we need with any of the apps.
The example client I will use wanted to have a dog boarding service on their website. Their customers were getting confused with bookings because the way the multiday booking works is by selecting one single day for a booking that spans across a various amount of days. All of this is set in the backend so it cant be changed by the customer. As you can probably see, this is a big problem when we are talking about clients boarding their pets. We tried out the hotel app and that functioned nearly perfect except I couldn’t remove or change titles to things like the amount of adults and kids. If I could change the label name to Dogs and Cats, that would have been perfect. Its also missing some design features like rounding buttons and input fields.
Hotel App Suggestions:
- Allow labels for fields to be changed
- This includes the check in, check-out, adults, kids fields and the fields on the room itself, properties, amenities, etc.
- Add design features like rounding button and field corners, all button design features
- Colors, hover, border, etc.
Bookings App Suggestions:
- Allow bookings to be mutliday and selectable exactly like the hotel calendar dates selection.
- This should be an option and should not switch how the current bookings function.
- Include all design features from other apps and sections from the site
- Again we are seeing a lack of design features for rounding the boxes corners, adding hover effects and much more. This editor for design is also completely different than the old editor from the Hotel App. These editors need to be standard across the board.
- Adding flexibility with the layout of the individual booking page
- Currently we unable to change most of the design of the individual bookings page and this causes inconsistencies with site design. Not being able to round certain things, or move the main image in a certain place is very limiting. This is part of the reason I will develop custom pages that use Corvid to work with your apps but this slows the site down so it’s not ideal.
- Adding some sort of commission structure for the people assigned the bookings would be an incredible feature
