For years I’ve been assisting clients with integrating and consuming my company’s resources via APIs and iframes on websites built with various technologies and platforms.
Unlike other platforms where iframes and custom scripts are straightforward to implement, Wix’s restrictive iframe settings and limited access to key JavaScript functions/objects add layers of complexity that can make integration far from seamless and really frustrating.
I’d simply secure the platform to address JavaScript’s inherent risks. This would open up native JavaScript capabilities to users without exposing the system to vulnerabilities.
This approach would allow developers and users the flexibility to use familiar, native JavaScript features, while also maintaining a secure and stable environment. I’m pretty sure this would be beneficial to the Wix as well, as it does sound like someone might be “reinventing the wheel”! JavaScript is JavaScript.
