New Document field type in the content manager

You can now add documents to your collections! Document is a new field type available in the Content Manager.
To capture files uploaded by users, add an Upload Button element to your page and connect it to a dataset.


To view or download document files from the page, add a Button element, connect it to your dataset, and make sure that the “Link connects to” is set to a document field in your collection.

Hi Shay. Is their a way to show the file [PDF. WORD etc.]from the database on to my screen? Something like a button that opens the file so they can see it without having to downloading or at least something like that? Anyway thanks for this option is amazing.

When you connect a button, as described in my update, it opens the document in a new tab and doesn’t download it.

Thanks Shay. This information will definitely help me with proposing Code to a client. One more question. Is there a way to send the information stored in database to a printer?

Do you mean specifically the document or other information in the database?

Hi Tomer. Both the document or other information in the database. It’s because I like to have the option for my client to have a hard copy. How do I create a code for that?

There may be some workarounds to do that, but I suggest waiting for the import/export feature to be released which will allow you to export collections to other formats.

I’m talking about an upcoming feature that will allow you to export the data without code, it is not available yet.
If you need to export the data now, you can of course use the method in the article.

Is it possible export all documents (document field type) in database at once, to a folder? Preferably when the other fields are exported.
