New feature alert: Pinned Position

Increase your elements’ visibility by locking them into place using Pinned Position. :pushpin:
You can pin an element to its parent section or to the page so it stays visible as visitors scroll down.

From the Inspector panel, you can now pin an element to a specific parent container.
The pinned element will then stay fixed in place, relative to its parent.

You can pin individual elements so they stay visible and locked into place.
Choose whether to pin the element to its parent section or the entire page.
To pin an element:

  1. Select the element you want to pin.

  2. Open the Inspector at the top right.

  3. Click the drop-down under Position type and select Pinned .

  4. Choose where to pin the element to using the drop-down next to Pin to :

  • Section: Make the element visible as visitors scroll down the specific section.

  • Page: Make the element visible as visitors scroll up and down the page.

Note:

  • It’s not possible to pin elements that are stretched.

  • The Pinned position applies to all breakpoints.

  • You can only pin a section when it borders the page on all breakpoints.
Similarly, master sections can be pinned if they border the page everywhere they’re used.

Enjoy and please share your feedback with us! :lollipop:

Awesome feature.

I love it very good and I would like to see more features thank you Wix Team :eyes:

Hi, maybe I didn’t get how works this new feature. When I pin something to something else than the page (section or parent container), then nothing occurs.

I unable to pin some of my masters as per your third bullet above “Similarly, master sections can be pinned if they border the page everywhere they’re used.” . I’m not sure what it means though. The masters are all aligned to the page sides or page tops

Hi @lironm

I’ve never been able to understand your post.
We use all the time sticky position for elements to make a vertical scrolling effect. It’s pined inside it’s parent container.
We also use the pin option to pin an element to the page, then it’s like sticky on the whole page.

So what’s the point by pinning it to the section?
I might don’t understand, because I see effect.

Do you have a video explainer?
