The Upload Button now accepts a new file type: Audio .
Your visitors can select, upload and submit a single audio file.
Supported formats are: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, WMA, AIF and AIFF.
To configure your Upload Button to accept an audio file, simply pick “Audio” from the list of options under “Supported file type” in the Settings panel.
Alternatively, you can set the .fileType property to “Audio”.
Really nice! But could you please make it so the upload button can accept more than one file type once? Make a list of checkboxes to make it able for instance select “Image” and “Document”.
WooHoo!!! Thank you , thank you, thank you. I have already have it on a page and testing shows it works. It will go live in a couple of days. Thanks for responding to this feature request.
Mind that as much as we are aware the feature is fully functional - please let us know if something isn’t working right. It is only the texts in the list of options that look funny, and the fact that they may not be properly translated into your account language (if it’s configured to any language that isn’t English).
I’ve been loving that this feature is now available, but there is a bug that I’ve discovered recently: When our site is viewed on the native Facebook browser from the Facebook mobile app, any “Upload Audio” button only accepts photos or videos, not audio – even though the button is set up to accept audio and it works when viewed outside of Facebook’s native browser. See screenshots below; Audio files can’t be selected for upload. Only images and videos.
Link to our site below for testing. (Site still under construction) Note, this bug is only seen when viewing our site on Facebook’s native browser. A way to test this is to send this link to yourself through Facebook Messenger, then open it there and try to upload an audio file: https://benbradley91.wixsite.com/lovewaves/new-lovewave-creation-page
This is a pretty big hangup because most of our traffic is going to be from Facebook ads, and if users aren’t able to properly upload audio, then it brings things to a halt. Looking forward to anything you can do to fix this asap. Thanks in advance.
@benbradley91 Thank you for reporting. We will look into it right away. BTW, it works fine for me on my Android device (I did what you suggested and sent the link to myself using the Facebook Messenger, then opened it on my mobile device).
Do you have an Android device to validate that the issue indeed only happens on iPhone and when viewed through the Facebook browser?
Is this post talking about the ability to upload audio to individual blog posts for readers to be able to listen to? Because that is what I am looking for the solution for! Please help!
Sorry to update that this is not fixed yet. The issue is not in the Upload Button itself but rather in our text translation system, and affects the panels of several other elements, such as Radio Buttons and Dropdown. Relevant team is on it and I will update here again as soon as the fix is released.
@workhorsesounds The fix for this issue has been released. If you are still experiencing it, I would very much appreciate you reporting it here. Thanks!
@eyalc Got your message today, but couldn’t respond for some reason. We are planning to launch in a few days, so great to hear that the FB browser audio upload issue is in process of being fixed! We just went Premium and are live now: www.mylovewaves.com
@eyalc Got your private message, but still can’t respond. I can’t even access my “Messages” inbox on Corvid for some reason, I can only read your message in my email inbox. Even when I click “Message” under your profile image, it doesn’t load anything.
Anyway, the file types of the audio files that are grayed out both .WAV files and .MP3 files. Any audio type of media is grayed out. It seems as though the uploader on Facebook’s browser is ignoring the “Audio” file type of the upload button and only allowing Photo or Video upload by default – on the iPhone app, at least.
Really looking forward to a solution! Thanks Eyal.
