New Forms: Exporting Submissions as PDF

Question:
This is a concerned comment and question. Why has this feature been made so cumbersome, with so many restrictions, when we know it can be a streamlined process?

Product:
Wix Editor, New Forms

What are you trying to achieve:
I’m trying to understand why this new feature has been made so cumbersome.

Additional information:
I received notification today that a feature request has been honored: Exporting Form Submissions as PDF files. To do this export, the PDFs need to be created individually. With Wix’s old forms, a PDF could be generated automatically and attached to the email notification that a form has been submitted.

I find this roll out very disappointing. Would like to know what others think.

Hey @Dena!

This is the first part of bringing PDFs to Wix Forms - the team is working on adding PDFs to the notification emails to - Wix Forms Request: Receiving a PDF Copy of Form Submissions in the Email Notification | Help Center | Wix.com - similar to what you know from the old Forms

Thank you, @noahlovell . This is good to know. I will try to be patient :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @noahlovell -

Thank you for following up about rolling out the PDF copy. I am finding the PDF to be lacking in its own right. How come the PDF says “signed” instead of showing an image of the customer’s signature? Is there a way to use velo to fix this? I can’t very well send customers copies of their contracts that just say “signed” and don’t show their actual signature… Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks,
Ben

Including an image of the signature isn’t currently in the plans - although I have shared with the team.

I haven’t tried anything myself - but imagine that if it is possible in Velo, it’ll require generating your own PDFs based on the form submission data etc.
