Is there a way to require existing site members to agree to updated terms of use before accessing members only pages?

What are you trying to achieve:
We are updating our terms of service and want to require existing members to agree to new terms before accessing our store. We have several hundred site members who created accounts to order our products, but want our store page to only be accessible to members who have agreed to updated terms of service/use. New members are now required to agree before creating an account so we are looking for a way to ensure that previously existing members must also accept the new terms.
What have you already tried:
We have been looking at changing the roles and permissions but not sure if that is the easiest way to go about it.
