I’m new to Wix Studio having moved over from the regular Wix editor a few weeks ago. I was expecting studio to be better/easier, but it doesn’t feel that way right now!
I’ve built a site, worked on the mobile views once I was happy with the desktop view, but it looks nothing like it does on the editor/preview! On the preview it looks as I would like it to, but then when I view on my phone (Google pixel 7 & iPhone 13 pro max) there is a huge gap after the services section, the text in the services section runs off the side of the page, there’s big gaps after a couple of headings that aren’t there in the editor!
I tried searching on here first, and I found a few old threads from people having issues with mobile not looking as it should, but not really any answers or solutions.
I’ve tried adjusting size of text / spacing in the editor, but that just messes up the desktop version and doesn’t improve the mobile version!
I’m baffled that this works less effectively than the ‘consumer’ Wix editor I was using up until now. I’ve never experienced so many problems in creating the mobile version of a website before!
Yes it is known that wix has problems with the roll-out of Wix-Studio and this was already mentioned many times and also the issues regarding mobile-version is known already. All you can do for the moment are 3-things.
Waiting until Wix-Studio becomes a stable version (instead of been or feeling like a beta-version) → this will take time for sure.
You go back and use your ordinary Wix-Editor or Editor-X (which working more stable with less of bugs).
You Search for an alternative to wix.
But it’s on your own descision.
I am sure most of bugs will be fixed after some time, but this will take time.
And if you still want to use Wix-Studio anyway → you can try to fix your issue by using code.
For reverting back to Wix-Editor i don’t have any solution for you (i do not know if there is already a possibility to do that). Maybe you will have to recreate your site again from scratch in ordinary Wix-Editor. Maybe you can copy paste parts of your Sites elements and codes over to ordinary Editor.
In the ordinary editor you have the options to SAVE your own CUSTOM-DESIGN, for example a whole SECTION. Take a look if Wix-Studio does provide the same option (i don’t think so, never tested). If it does provide, try to paste it into your ordinary one (but also this will not work out of my view, since Wix-Studio is based on a totaly different shematic).
So at the end you probably will have to recreate everything from scratch again.
Just thought I’d update here as I’ve been able to spend some more time tweaking things today. In case it’s helpful for others that were struggling with the same problems who might come across this thread when looking for help.
First I deleted the breakpoints so the site displayed the same on all devices.
I then perfected my design for desktop
re-input the break points for tablet and mobile
next perfected the tablet design
then perfected the mobile design
As I went through I made sure that all sections and elements were set to either “scale proportionally” or “fit to screen” in the responsive behaviour dropdown.
