No option to transfer Domain away from Wix

I have a client who purchased a domain through wix which they would now like to move away. However following the instructions in the wix support area there are no options to transfer the domain away from Wix. There also is no way of contacting wix. Can anyone advise?

You can transfer domains outside to Wix. I have transferred my domain to Google Domains just a month ago.

I assume you are now gone from Wix, BUT if you aren’t did you have any downtime on transfer?

Domain transfers don’t ever have downtimes, but because of Wix and their walled-off garden, they claim it will cause downtime.

Any help would be great.

I don’t know about this because the domain I have transferred was already an inactive domain so I’m not sure, you should ask it to Wix support.

Hi Matthew,

If you are transferring domain ownership there shouldn’t be any downtime in the period from one provider to another. The slight downtime will come when you change the nameservers from one provider to another. (Your nameservers are what holds the DNS Records). When you change these you will need to reset up your DNS records either manually or via wherever you transfer your records too.

Hi! I’m also trying to transfer my domain away from Wix but I can’t as I have no option “Transfer Away from Wix”. Someone can help me please?
All options I have are:
“Assign to a different site” / " unassign from this site" / “remove from wix” / “transfer to wix”

Hello, I am also someone who feels frustrated about domain transfers. The reason why the “Transfer from Wix” option is not available might be because the domain you own is registered with a different provider. Could it be that you connected a domain from another provider to a site created on Wix?
