Hey Edward - your comic relief last night was legendary. To answer your question EVERYONE is able to apply to the beta. You can sign up now at editorx.com
It was awesome! Canāt wait to try. Already submitted for Beta Test
you are asking the questions we all want to know @melissa-1 .
Soā¦ Iām just guessing and trying to puzzle fit.
-
If eX (Editor X) is different that OE (Original Editor) , What happens to all of the websites that are designed in the Original e?
-
Iām just guessing ā¦ but I would assume the OE is going to remain available to the DIY audience that Wix supportsā¦ meaning that as a partner - I will still be servicing people in the OE? ORā¦ with the OE eventually disappear and we will be rebuilding client websites on the new eX?
-
Will the eX be a pay to use service to design partners? I sorta feel like this is where I see this going.
@brett-haralson youāre welcome!
Ignore everything I said aboveā¦ so basically the new Editor X will be a pay to play system. Got it. I wonder how much it will be?
Hi! Will the beta have limited access? Or will it be available to everyone?
(If the beta version will be with limited access, then who will have priority in testing?)
1: You will access it the same way you would ADI, classic editor, or Editor X. Existing sites will not automatically be on Editor X.
2: Pricing around editor x is not final; and all of the structure is still being built. Feedback is always welcome, though!
3: Yes - but keep in mind this is still a beta. I would treat this as as such. You know the drill!
1: Classic Editor And I answered this - Itās pinned at the top. Short Answer: Those sites are still beautiful and fully functional!
2: Classic editor will still continue to grow and support millions of users - There is no plan to discontinue the classic editor. If you have sites in the CE you will still be working inside it - or you can build something new with Editor X.
3: The answer is yes, and on stage Nir eluded to Editor X being part of a larger package Wix is still building. There will be more on this - and it will be equally as exciting as Editor X. The beta, however, is free to apply. =)
Everyone is free to apply right now - Itās wide open. WE will add as many people as we can, of course, but it takes time to roll out!
@brett-haralson Thanks, I applied for access during the presentation. I hope the priority will be taken into account.
Will Wix Partner requests for people wanting to build a site on Editor X be designated be designated as such.
This will give us that commercial-grade edge we needed to secure larger projects. į¦( Ķ”Ā° ĶŹ Ķ”Ā°)į¤
I have a question on your answer Brett - That you mentioned that using the editor will be paid. -Abit confused here-. So to use the editor we will have to pay? Currently - on this editor - we use it free (us designers) and then the client purchases the premium plan to host the websiteā¦ Now both us as designers and the client will need to pay?Us to use the editor and the client to host the site?
Maybe Iām a little ahead of time, but Iām very interested. On the page https://www.wix.com/editorx/betarequest I see the following message in the browser title: Request Beta Access | Stable 29.01.20
Does this mean that now the editor will support versions, and the update process will be more stable? If you are not ready to answer this question at the moment, no problem.
I am not a Wix employee, but I think that the new editor will be focused on professional web designers and agencies. In this case, the monthly fee is absolutely normal. This is a professional tool, as are products from Adobe.
can we build client sites in the beta with the new editor?
@eugene Webflow is also a tool for professionals but they dont charge to use the editor, they charge per project, once completed(a fee that the client pays.)
