We have clients who like the layout and functionality of the online programs participant page and therefore want to use the app for their business. However, the site visitor page is very limited in layout and design options (being polite… it is awful), therefore most clients we work with need a bespoke course info page which allows for a better design in keeping with the rest of their website.
Could we either have significantly more editing capacity within the site visitor page or the ability to turn off this page in the visitor to participant process.
We use subscriptions as a workaround and link the bespoke course page straight to subscriptions checkout using the url.
Did anyone ever find a decent solution for this? I’m currently very frustrated with the limitations of the online programs add-on.
Yes, we found a workable solution.
Instead of relying on the default Online Programs visitor page, we created a custom landing page for each programme and directed users into the programme purchase flow from there. Wix actually has a support article covering this approach.
The result is that you have complete control over the marketing page, layout, messaging, testimonials, FAQs, CTAs, etc., while still using Online Programs for the actual programme delivery once access has been granted.
For us, this solved most of the frustrations with the default visitor page, which felt quite limiting from a design and conversion perspective.
The native programme pages still exist and are used for delivering the content, but they no longer need to be the primary user-facing sales page.
