Hey everyone,
Not sure if this #featurerequest has been discussed already, but one option I feel is lacking in the #stores #shipping features is to disable one or more shipping option from certain products.
For example: I offer free shipping over £25 for standard shipping in my store for everyday goods. However, I also offer products which count as ‘hazardous goods’ in limited quantity, for which I have a special shipping account which is much more expensive to ship via.
Therefore, if I were to continue to offer free shipping over £25 for standard shipping, these goods would end up being shipped FOC on any order over £25 which my profit margin will not cover.
Currently, the only option I have is to stop offering free shipping on orders over £25 (which I feel is poor customer service on my part), or take a massive hit on the products which need shipping via special shipment.
If I could remove the option for shipping via standard shipping on any products in the order which come under the ‘hazardous goods’ product collection, then I would not be losing profits, yet still be able to offer free standard shipping for orders which don’t include items from this collection.
What do we think?
Hey Emma! This is a really great #featurerequest! Thanks for sharing. However, I checked the help center and found this option here . Do you think it is relevant for you? Let us know
Could you create a product group called hazardous waste and price accordingly for shipping. This feature only came out in the last few weeks

Hi guys, thanks for your replies!
The product group option doesn’t work because all it does it adds up the postage costs of people buying from different product groups until the postage costs are ridiculously high. I tried and tried to work around this option, but it just doesn’t work for me because I have a lot of different product groups and my customers purchase items from across the different groups in their order.
In the example on the help centre, it talks about ceramics and heavy goods, and how if someone wanted to buy two lots of ceramics you can have the option to only apply shipping to the whole group and not each item. However, it is group specific, meaning if someone wanted to buy both ceramics AND heavy goods in the same order, the postage adds together and you cannot work around that and have a situation where one type of postage trumps/overrides another to reach the correct, agreeable amount. In this example, the heavy goods would cost most to send, therefore it would cover the full amount of the order and not require a merge of postage costs.
I hope I’m making sense, but it is difficult to explain!! Basically it would be great to disable a postage option which is not applicable to a specific product group, or to enable the possibility that if a certain product group is part of an order, the postage would automatically be allocated and override any other postage options
Hi Anna, unfortunately this option does not work for me. I explained it a little bit better in my response below
Hey Pocket Rocket - I’m afraid it doesn’t work out for my particular shop, and believe me I tried! I’ve explained it a bit better below
Hey Emma! Did you ask for help in the Wix Corvid Forum , maybe they have a solution for you. In the meantime, we will let the Wix Stores team aware of your request. Thank you again.
@annahelise Hi Anna, no I haven’t posted in there as I’m new to the forums. I will copy and paste the post into there. Thanks for the heads up!
