Paid Plans

Please update this poor sad app. It needs love, attention, a way to upgrade or downgrade a plan, a way to cancel a subscribed plan, a way to redirect users after purchasing a plan, a tiral membership plan, and Discount plan method.

It is so promising, yet so lacking.

Please, can you help give a needy app a forever home on my website with these added and much needed features. For only a few lines of code per day, you can save a poor helpless app in its greatest time of need.

Thanks for your feedback.
We’re adding features to the app constantly.
Regarding an option to cancel- owners already have this option, they can cancel memberships that his members bought.
Our next features are- adding more recurring options and having coupons.
Writing two other things you wrote on our wishlist.

I hope the Sally Struthers approach helped tug at your heart strings for this app. Ideally I would like the members themselves to be able to cancel their subscriptions, as well as upgrade and downgrade. As you can imagine if i have thousands of subscribed members, manually changing these will become an irritation for my clients as they have to wait for me to make the changes, not to mention the hours that can take out of my day to day.

It would be great if you could also get membership details before payment! Such as their address and contact details.

Adding another payment option through stripe (iDeal) would be great for dutch customers.

I tried paid plans early on, and it was a bit lacking… so feel free to correct me if you added some of these capabilities.

I would love to see:

  • Ability to create Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Recurring Payments
  • Ability for users to make the purchase without having to register, I would rather see the address and e-mail from the checkout receipt.
  • Ability to integrate Paid Plans for Wix Forms (this one might be longer in the making)

@dragonlord4469187 Thanks for requesting much needed enhancements to paid plans. Have you found any alternative methods? I desperately need the free trial period facility. Until that happens, is the answer to directly use Stripe calls? Thanks for any ideas you can share…

The behavior and lack of being able adding attributes makes this “feature” useless. So much time is spent/wasted wondering if I’m doing something wrong and realize it’s the app and not me. My client doesn’t want her customers to be forced to set up a members account, the payment widget just pops up with no information on what it’s for - Is beta testing a new app prior to release for comments and suggestions not in the realm of possibilities anymore? Pretty lame release. Sorry , just have to vent.

@riazmkhan I haven’t found any real alternative methods. The only way i have been told is to build it out as a custom stripe setup so far, hopefully Wix will upgrade the paid plans. I actually have a call with them today to discuss some features. Lets hope i am able to impress them enough to give the app the attention it needs.

@dragonlord4469187 Thanks. How did your call go?

Here’s another thread on paid plans here: https://www.wix.com/code/home/forum/community-feature-request/paid-plans-offering-7-days-of-free-access-then-charges-automatically%3Fpage%3D1%26dl%3D5c43bf0dbbe1d001e85d0057%252F5c4239f635bfcd00c1520c29%252F2.

Seems that Wix is in the planning stage…

In the mean time, I’ll get along and build the solution after I’ve completed another couple of tasks. Would you mind if I came back to you for advice/guidance?

Thanks again.

This is a big one for e-commerce, dear Wix Team please address ASAP

@riazmkhan

I had a very good video meeting with one of the Wix Developers for the Paid Plans feature. The focus was on coupons, their function, and how the site builders and users would most likely implement them into their sites. and what purposes these coupons would likely serve.

We talked for about an hour and i also was able to share some of the other much needed features of the paid plans app. Discounts, trial periods, redirects, custom payment pages, ability to use custom sign up pages instead of the Wix default, etc.

He did share some insights as to why some of these features can take so long to build and why some things may not be able to be done at all (he wouldn’t specify which was which however).

The biggest issue Wix has, (imho), in the development teams is that they are very compartmentalized and only work on their one area. So things that require coding from the payments development team and the app/feature has to get bounced back and forth between departments. Some things have limitations simply due to the payment processors.

All in all i feel it was a good meeting and it was refreshing to see Wix directly interact with a site owner to get input on a feature and how we would like to be able to use the features.

This developer contacted me based on this Post actually. So it is something to take away from this is that Wix actually does listen, and while it may take more time than we may have they are working on improvements. Also if an app or feature is not available that you would like to see, REQUEST IT!

I know first hand how frustrating the Paid Plans feature is, it is really pushing me to the limit and i am pushing wix code to the limit with it, I have even had to hire a coder to help me.

Paid Plans honestly could be a huge driving force for Wix, as other than Wordpress, there are NO other website services that have this as a feature. Trust me I have looked as it is a cornerstone to my sites development. I really wish Wix would put a more serious priority on this feature and really expand it to its full potential. It really would be a marketing game changer for Wix.

Dear WIX. Sadly not much has happened around the paid plans app for a long time. Any news ?

Ill add my voice to this too…

Vital:

  1. Users being able to cancel
  2. Details of what they are buying on the payment page
  3. The ability to create an account as part of the checkout process

Nice to have
4) A page which allows an “up-sell” after they have selected a plan.

I’ve been looking (without success) on how to implement 2 & 3 with WixCode… which led me here…

Thanks for your feedback. I just wanted to say that we hear you and we are working hard to bring new features for you.

PLEASE MAKE THIS APP MORE USER FRIENDLY!
-Redirect to my membership course page after purchase
-A customizable email confirming purchase of membership site

I “signed up” to my own paid plan on my website and I was confused…why is sign-in page popping up?
…so my new member will definitely be confused.

Im at a stand still. Can any of this be coded??? HELP

continuousinks thanks for your feedback.

We are working on customizable email confirming purchase and it will come up quite soon. Please vote for this feature so that you would be notified when it’s out.

Users has to sign up when purchasing a plan or accessing plan benefits because we connected Paid Plans to page permissions. Page permissions can provide rights to access certain pages or content on your site only for registered users.

With regards to redirecting users to a specific page after purchase, we are working on that. For the time being however, when email automations will be out for Paid Plans you will be able to send users a specific link in an email.

Let me know if you will have any more questions.

Hi there,

I just set up the paid plans app, but so far I am facing multiple limitations. The two most important drawbacks at this moment are:

  1. For Dutch debit card users there is no option to agree upon monthly payments, except when using a creditcard. Dutch debit cards (via Maestro) have different type of numbers and don’t contain a CVV/CCV code. Paying via recurrent debit would be great as well (already possible via Stripe, only thing is that this isn’t possible to integrate in Wix yet).
  2. The lay-out of the paid plans pages is rather unclear as we offer different options regarding both the duration and the service. This now implies ten different paid plans on one page. We want to make it more clear by adding different paid plan pages (for example one per service, so that only duration is varying).

Can you say anything about the amount of time required to implement these features to the Paid plans app ?

Kind regards,

Stan Thijssen

@sthijssen I am sorry to tell you this, but I have been using the Paids Plans since it was launched, and virtually no enhancements have been made so far. The app is clearly not a high priority at WIX.

I would not expect the things you describe to be added any time soon!

They haven’t even enabled something so simple as redirecting customers to a specific page after payment.

@mikrokogebogen that’s sad to hear, but thanks for the quick response!

@antanasd can you give us an update on the latest plans for improving this app ?
