Is it possible to password protect or ‘hide’ certain CMS collections so that collaborators cant mess them up? Seems impossible yet as I see it quite an important thing to have for obvious reasons?
You can set a lot of permissions for collaborators, including who can view/modify CMS data. It’s under the “Roles & Permissions” section of your site dashboard.
Thanks again Anthony, however no bespoke access for Roles on CMS so not possible.
It supports quite a few options
If you need something else then you can request new features on the product roadmap: Product Roadmap
Thanks Anthony. Yes I see this.
I do think this doesn’t scratch the surface of what secure measure should be available as standard. For example password protect and or hide collections. The CMS at the moment is wide open to contributors. I get that backups secure somewhat. However just core privacy options per collection would be great
Hi Anthony. Please can you let me know if its possible for access to be given to;
a) add item to a collection but…
b) inability to delete an item from a collection.
?
Thanks
Incase you hadn’t seen it yet @Al_James, the team is working on CMS collection permissions. We held a Studio Hours a few weeks back where we showcased the upcoming ability.
You’ll have the option to choose the roles and permissions that can access the collection. More info here
THank you for this. It sounds just like what is needed and crucially overdue given the existing vulnerabilities currently with CMS where the possibility for collaborator sabotage is huge. CAn you advise a timeline on when this new CMS protection may be available please?
I don’t currently have an ETA - but it is in the works
Hi Noah, Do you have a timescale on this yet please?
