Pro Galleries with linked items wouldn't open in expand mode

On a dynamic page I have some galleries with some items connected to a “file” type field (PDF).
Galleries are set to “open in expand mode” but wouldn’t open at all.
Only items with a link goes directly to the PDF file in a new tab.
Not all the items are linked to a document, but in any case - it is very important to be able to open the gallery first in expand mode.
When I check a copy of an identical non-dynamic gallery it works fine - first opens in expand mode, and then you can click on a link if you want. (And if a link exists)

What could be the problem? How can I fix this?
