I’m having trouble with
On the Wix Studio default Product page, product section, when I change my product variant (which has been linked to specific images) the linked image shows (good) but it removes the option to view the Product images.

What I’m trying to do
I would have thought that we would be able to see the product images in the thumbnails, but NOT the variant linked images.
When the variant is changed, the linked image now shows, but also allows us to view the main other product images.
Extra context
Here the page has just loaded, I haven’t chosen the variant, and I can choose any of the main product images…
But here, now that I’ve chosen a variant, the main product images disappear…
Is this supposed to happen? And if so… Isn’t it designed a bit strangely?
@Quality_Rug this is expected behavior, not a bug. Once a media item is connected to a specific option value, Wix treats that value as having its own dedicated gallery. Selecting a choice that has linked media swaps the whole thumbnail set to just that choice’s connected images and hides the general product photos. The general photos only show while no option with linked media has been picked yet.
There’s no native toggle that says “keep the general photos, just swap in this one extra image.” The workaround is to link your shared/general photos to every variant option value as well, not only the unique image. So each variant ends up with: its own unique shot plus the same shared photos repeated across every option. That reproduces the mixed thumbnail row you want on every variant, since Wix is then showing the full linked set per choice rather than filtering it down to one image.
It’s tedious for a lot of variants, but it’s the only way to get that exact behavior without custom code on the gallery. If you’d rather not do that by hand across every variant, happy to take a look, feel free to DM me or reach out at support@ecomswiftllc.com.
