Hi all
I have created my first website through Wix which I am impressed with as I didn’t think I would be able to! I have connected the site to Google Search Console and Google Analytics and the site has been indexed.
According to the Search Console, Google won’t ‘index’ the (new) blog due to there being an ‘Alternative page with Canonical page’. I find this strange as this is only for the blog and has ‘/blog’ after the web address (www bit) so it points in the right direction and is the only page for the blog. This also seems to be a bit odd as I can see the page when I search for it through Google using ‘Site:www.XYZ/blog’
The page was last crawled on March 17th so I have requested that Google crawl the page again but am not sure when it will happen or if it will happen.
My blog posts have not yet been indexed so I presume they will be at some point though they have a web address of ‘www.mywebsite/post/xyz123’ rather than ‘www.mywebsite/blog/blogpost title’ Might this be causing the problem as I have not altered the web address that Wix sets for it.
Can anyone let me know if:
a) this is a problem with my blog and how I set it up,
b) I have done something wrong (quite likely as this is my first website I have built)
c) something else
Sorry if I have not made much sense but I am only just understanding things myself!
Thank you for any help or pointers that you can give.
Regards
Richard
