Hi all - I have an external spreadsheet I am trying to import. I have several “tables” that have unique ids for the record set. So, what I did was just duplicate the column, so that I have my “id” and then the Wix “id” that are identical when importing and can then (in theory) use a reference field with the id of the other table to link the two together. However, the reference field won’t accept the value. Even when I manually select what the reference should be, the system rejects it (it shows the “primary” field, and then tries to set the record value as the ID, and then say s " The value does not match the field type Reference" AGAIN WHEN IVE USED THE SYSTEM TO SELECT THE VALUE!!)
My ids are all digits which are set into the text field as (I believe) is required for a reference field.
This seems like a very simple task, I’m not sure why the system is rejecting it.
I maybe have an answer - id values can’t be one character? That would appear to be the issue for me, making the ids all at least 2 digits seems to make the reference work.

Could be caused by different TYPES of values (for example NUMBER & STRING). So check the field-types. This is all i can suggest you, sorry.
I guess it’s not exactly a Corvid question after all - but the field types matched. For whatever reason, id # 1-9 would not allow for a reference field match, but 10+ did.
Which TYPE did you choose? I hope not “STRING” 
Oh wow, wish I had read your post earlier, because I have an open support ticket that Wix haven’t been able to solve for over 2 months, and this seems to be the reason, ID’s (Type Text) of “1” to “9” do not work
