Removing participant (cancellation) from one booking

Hi Wix community,

I’m having this annoying problem with wix booking that I’m not sure if I’m just missing something, or the functionality is super limited. I have a kids’ fitness website that allows parents to book for a class for multiple kids at a time, and they can check out/ book without becoming a member.

The clients do not sign up for an account until they’ve tried a few classes, and often we will need to cancel their registration by their request, or move them to a different class. Currently I only see the option to ‘delete participant’, which says it removes the client from all past and future bookings. I also don’t get the option to change the number of participants. I’d rather be able to handle this instead of asking a new client to rebook with the correct number of participants, because chances are they just won’t do it.

Without booking as a member, the client doesn’t get a reschedule/ cancellation link with their booking confirmation, which means I have to manually make changes on my side, yet I’m also not able to make these changes easily. Our classes have a max participant limit, so it’s not really a good solution for me to just leave them registered and refund separately through the payment functionality.

The ability for guest-checkouts to make changes OR for me to make changes seems like the most basic of booking functionality, am I missing something?

Good morning. Thank you for your feedback. I believe clients need to to create member profiles as mentioned here in order to make changes to their reservations. Have you tried contacting customer care to see if they have an alternate solution? You can reach out and schedule a callback here .

Regarding removing a participant - there is a difference between class and course. Unfourtenatly in course you cannot control the participants for an individual session, so you might want to use classes instead.
Regarding the client’s ability to cancel the booking by himself - this is a known feature request that we are planning to handle soon :slight_smile:

This feature is possible now!

If you have added a Wix Members Area to your site, clients can log in and make changes to their bookings.

On their personal My Bookings page, they can view upcoming and past bookings. Each of the upcoming bookings has a Reschedule and Cancel option, so clients can make changes without taking up any of your time.

Randy I don’t think you understood what the thread is about at all. You’re talking about rescheduling a class session wheras the post is about removing a participant from anumber of course sessions, not all of the course in its entirety.

Is there a way to move participants from one class to another on my end? It seems like I have to delete and add. I would like to be able to just move with one action and have a history of their original booking date. Is there a way to do that? I have numerous clients need to reschedule or instances where I have to reschedule a class but not move all of the participants to the same day.
Also, is there a way to change the number of participants in a booking once they have paid?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to move a participant from one class to another, but I will raise it as a feature request so that in the future we could solve this issue.
As you mentioned, a workaround for this issue would be adding & deleting participants manually.
